DESCRIPTOR: Citizenship (Y/N)

DEFINITION: Indicates whether or not the student is a US citizen.

VALUES:

Y = Yes, student is a US citizen

N = No, student is not a US citizen

FIELD ATTRIBUTE: A1

NOTE: If a student is a citizen of more than one country, the institution must report only one of the citizenships. US possessions, protectorates, and territories should be treated as states and thus coded US. These include American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Baker Island, Guam, Howland Island, Johnston Atoll, Kingman Reef, Midway Islands, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Wake Island, Navassa Island, Jarvis Island, Palmyra Atoll, and the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands.
