Activities of the Assessment Advisory Committee 1999-00
- July 27 1999 - Members of the Assessment Advisory Committee met with members of the
Provost's Office to discuss the status of general education assessment.
- July 26 1999 - General Education Goals at the University of South Carolina:
Development, Strategies, and Assessment of Outcomes was drafted.
- September 23 1999 -
Committee met and discussed preparations for SACS, as well as the possibility of
developing a local instrument for assessment.
- October 13 1999 - Philosophy Department requested an audience with the
Assessment Advisory Committee to express concerns over the numerical and analytical reasoning
requirement in the general education goals.
- October 18 1999 - Committee invited a representative from the Philosophy Department
to attend the next meeting.
- November 18 1999 -
Committee met and addressed the issue of defining numerical and analytical reasoning, in
addition to continued discussion of assessment instruments.
- April 4 2000 - The Provost reconstituted the Assessment Advisory Committee.
