Initially taught in MGSC 190,
Computer Literacy is one of the stated "Recurring Themes" to be included in
the following BA Core program courses for BA students. The following courses require word processing, spreadsheet use (including tables, and often graphs and figures), Internet and e-mail. Accounting - ACCT 222 Statistics - MGSC 291 Professional Communication - MGMT 250 (also requiring presentation software) Finance - FINA 363 Marketing - MKTG 350 Operations - MGSC 395 Additionally, Economics - ECON 224 requires word processing and spreadsheet use and Management - MGMT 371 requires Internet use. Computer skills are also required in many major elective courses, but we do not have an inventory of their use at this time. |
Repeated reinforcement of the skills initiated in MGSC 190 in the remaining BA courses throughout the College assures computer literacy and competency of our graduating students. Annually, we have a post course assessment of the above mentioned core courses. One objective of the assessment is to determine the computer skills taught and reinforced in later courses. |
