Respondent Profile - Senior Survey 1994
In 1994, approximately 1,000 questionnaires were distributed and 398 usable replies were returned and analyzed (a 39.8% response rate). A basic demographic breakdown of respondents looks like this:
- 57% Female; 43% Male
- 79% Caucasian; 10% African American; 5% Asian American;
3% Hispanic - 82% South Carolina residents
In the spring of every third year, the Senior Survey is administered to a sample of seniors. The survey allows the Division of Student and Alumni Services to develop a profile of its senior class and gauge students' perceptions of and satisfaction with various aspects of their college experience at the University of South Carolina. Instructors in selected senior level classes distribute the survey to students and collect the completed questionnaires during a subsequent class period. The Senior Survey is a locally developed survey, so no national norms are available.
